Hi! I’m Dailin Hu, a machine learning researcher on a mission to creating meaningful changes to the world. I’m most enthusiastic about leveraging Machine Learning methods, especially Reinforcement Learning (RL) to address real-world problems.

I’m a Data Scientist at Blizzard Entertainment, and my current work mainly revolves around RL research and applications for in-game AI support across multiple franchises. Previously I earned my M.S. in Computer Science at University of California, Irvine. There I worked with Prof. Roy Fox at the Intelligent-Dynamics Lab on Maximum Entropy RL research.

In my free time I love reading and diving into a wide range of topics besides keeping up with machine learning research, including behavioral sciences, psychology, sociology and philosophy. Besides reading, I also enjoy tinkering with toy projects, one of which I’ve been working on recently is a T-shirt folding laundry bot – and hopefully I’ll be able to share some updates here soon!

If you’d like to collaborate, please feel free to reach out via Linkedin or email me at hudailin(at)gmail(dot)com.
